AmeriCorps Disability Inclusion Initiative

AmeriCorps Disability Inclusion InitiativeServe Rhode Island's Disability Inclusion Initiative is building capacity for its programs to recruit, enroll and support persons with disabilities into AmeriCorps service. Under Federal Law, any program that receives federal funds is required to comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. As part of our commitment to inclusion for people of all abilities seeking service opportunities, we have the services of a Disability Inclusion Coordinator on staff.

Goals:

  1. Continue to increase awareness of national service opportunities in the community of people with disabilities in Rhode Island.
