Scoop the Herring Day 2011

04/20/11

SCOOP THE HERRING DAY

SATURDAY APRIL 23
10am - 2pm
Omega Dam in East Providence, RI

Serve Rhode Island is joining forces with the Ten Mile River Watershed Council to help get herring over the dam and into Omega Pond where they can spawn.

We will be netting the fish, counting, and releasing them into their spawning grounds. There are three people on the nets at a time so we hope that you will join in the cleanup of the area between shifts!

This is a fun and interesting event for the whole family. Wear non-slip, sturdy shoes. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Call Claudia at Serve Rhode Island at 331-2298 for more information. We hope to see you there!
