IN THE NEWS: SRI wins RICH Grant for Justice Talks

02/01/13
Serve Rhode Island has been awarded a 2013 Major Grant Award from the RI Council for the Humanities to support its Justice Talks Replication project. SRI was one of 22 organizations to be awarded a RICH grant in support of humanities projects across the State of Rhode Island. This is the second year that SRI has won a Major Grant to support Justice Talks programming.

Specifically, SRI was awarded $7,121.38 to support the expansion of Justice Talks, a civic reflection series. Justice Talks is a unique discussion and reflection series that engages participants to think about and thoughtfully reflect upon complex social issues and explore the meanings of an engaged citizenry. The program will be expanded to reach not only AmeriCorps members serving in Rhode Island, but also high school students through area high schools and youth-serving organizations.

The full announcement can be found on the RI Council for the Humanities website.
