EVENT UPDATE: Life After AmeriCorps Fair

For many AmeriCorps members serving throughout Rhode Island, winter marks the halfway point in their year of service. With events such as
MLK Day Institute and
Justice Talks, there are many opportunities for Corps members to reflect on what they've learned and perhaps even more importantly, where they are going.
While it is important to stay focused on the rest of their service term, it is essential for members to think about "Life After AmeriCorps"! For that reason, the RI AmeriCorps Network hosted a Life After AmeriCorps Fair on Friday, February 15th at the Institute for the Study & Practice of Nonviolence.
AmeriCorps members had the opportunity to speak with all of the AmeriCorps programs in Rhode Island, as well as with admissions officers from several RI colleges and universities, and many local employers. Resume/cover letter workshops conducted by Providence College Career Services showed members how to frame service on their resume, and were a tremendous success.
