The mission of the AmeriCorps program at Providence Children's Museum is to instill a lifetime love of learning in children – especially those whose exposure to rich educational experiences is limited. The Museum AmeriCorps team is group of dynamic and diverse individuals who, in conjunction with Museum staff, develop and lead after-school STEAM-focused Learning Clubs at Providence and Pawtucket Boys and Girls Clubs; implement creative thinking programs in Head Start preschool classrooms; deepen the connections between the Museum and surrounding communities, and facilitate play and learning in the Museum’s hands-on exhibits.

Members are motivated, excited to work with kids and communities, and have a strong commitment to hands-on learning and experience and/or training in child development. Applicants who are conversational in Spanish, Portuguese, a Southeast Asian language, or American Sign Language are encouraged to apply.

You can learn more about our program, including contact information, flyers, and up-to-date information on how to attend an info session, at our website: http://www.childrenmuseum.org/ameriCorps.asp
